We are delighted to announce that the following organisations have been shortlisted for the World Post & Parcel Awards in 2021.

Corporate SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

An Post for their Community Focus Project
An Post introduced ‘Community Focus’, an expanded range of post office and postal delivery support for customers and communities to help everyone stay connected during the COVID-19 pandemic, most particularly for older and vulnerable people who are living alone. It was also designed to assist SME’s who were facing huge challenges as the pandemic impacted Irish business.

Correos for their Helping in Any Way We Can Initiative
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Correos’ 3,292 employees were encouraged to work as volunteers to the community, under the motto of “helping in any way we can”. They have provided key workers and vulnerable people with logistical help and supportive activities, and delivered more than 1.2million health and PPE items.

Le Groupe La Poste for Guaranteeing Digital Access for All
The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted inequalities resulting from digital exclusion, severely impacting families, work, education and social interactions. La Poste’s inclusive digital programme aims to help the 13 million French citizens who struggle with the digital world. Enhancing their digital skills enables them to increase their digital literacy in daily life with easier and wider access to online tools.

CROSS BORDER GROWTH

Asendia for their Customer-Centric E-PAQ Delivery Range
Asendia’s e-PAQ range of cross-border delivery services was launched in January 2021 with four tiers and a range of criteria based on speed, price, format, weight, and features. Together, these services offer convenient options to e-retailers, and also help meet sustainability commitments, as e-retailers work towards minimising their carbon footprint.

Post Luxembourg for their E-Dragon Programme
The E-Dragon Initiative was launched to promote cross border e-commerce flows in order to offset the traditional mail business. The aim is to crate a sustainable, profitable and innovative cross border e-commerce business to meet both international business customers and consumer needs.

PostEurop for their COG-LO Project
The COG-LO, running from 1st June 2018 to 30th September 2021, aims to create the framework and tools that will add cognition, collaboration features to future logistics processes. It studies the potentials that come from the growth of eCommerce and the opportunities for Cognitive Logistics and ad-hoc Collaborations in the context of cross border deliveries.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Australia Post for the Happy Parcels Interface
This interface was designed to help Australia Post’s service consultants better handle customer queries on parcel deliveries. By the better use of tracking and other operational information, customer queries were handled more efficiently and helpfully, with measurable benefits..

LibanPost for LibanPost’s Heroes Standing Tall in the Face of Compounded Crises
In the face of significant adversity, the Beirut explosion compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic, Liban Post continued and even expanded its range of services as other government departments were forced to shut down. Frontline employees continued to serve through all the difficulties faced, heroes standing tall.

Pakistan Post for their Customer Driven Transformation Project
This project was prompted by the large numbers of parcel delivery failures from a central parcel facility. It focused on the customer and the customer experience. This was then used to train employees and resolve systemic problems with addressing and delivery processes. The project was a testament to looking at an age old problem from a fresh viewpoint.

Deutsche Post DHL for the Matrixcode Stamp
The matrixcode stamp has a unique 2D barcode printed alongside the stamp design. As mail with the stamp attached passes along the distribution chain, it becomes possible to detect fraud in counterfeit stamps. From the consumer point of view, by scanning the barcode before sending the mail item, they will be able to see all future tracking event.

Digicust GmbH for their Supply Chain and Customs AI
The broad ambition of this service is to digitise the full supply chain of a product, with particular emphasis on the import and export customs arena. The system uses AI to improve recognition of customs issues. Using Digicust has led to significant increased productivity in both the customs clearance process and the correct valuation of duties.

Metapack for their Delivery Tracking System
With the launch of Delivery Tracker, Metapack has made it possible for shoppers to track delivery of purchased items without leaving the retailer’s website. It brings advantages to both the shopper and the retailer. The retailer can use tracking events to also promote other products. The shopper has a frictionless experience without having to reach out to a separate delivery service provider.

Correios for the Transport of Biological Samples Between Research Centres to Combat COVID-19
From the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Correios has been responsible for transporting virus samples, medicines, and clinical tests among laboratories and universities. Robust logistical control has been required to guarantee the integrity of the biological and perishable materials.

Doddle for Partnering with Japan’s Leading Carrier, Yamato
Doddle and Yamato have worked closely to map the ideal customer journey, offering Japanese consumers the opportunity to have more flexibility over how and when they can receive online orders. The joint PUDO service was also integrated into Yamato’s Kuroneko membership scheme to enable consumers to ‘re-direct’ an item that was destined for a home delivery into PUDO.

PHILATELIC CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR

An Post for their Father Ted Stamp Series
This was a very popular and successful stamp issue commemorating the well-known Father Ted television comedy series. The issue appealed to a very wide audience with great sales to collectors and an interested population.

Correos for their International LGBT Pride Campaign
The LGBT Pride stamp issue by Correos was part of a history of recognising and acknowledging the values and beliefs of society in its philatelic programme. As well as producing the stamps as a statement of support, Correos added to public attention by placing images of the LGBT Pride flag on street letter-boxes.

CTT Correios de Portugal for their Graphene Implant Stamp
CTT Correios de Portugal produced a souvenir philately sheet with each stamp having a graphene implant, embedded with the engraving of a poem. This could be read from smartphones using near-field communications (NFC) technology.

Correos for the “Correos Market” marketplace
Correos Market is a marketplace for local products manufactured by local producers and vendors. It aims to boost the sale and promotion of good in rural areas that have been affected by depopulation in recent decades. It provides a point of sale, promotions, and logistics across Spain and benefits 2400 post offices throughout the country.

LibanPost for their Digital Journey
To surf the e-commerce wave, LibanPost has transformed both its B2B and B2C businesses. For B2C, they have enlarged their online offering to include personalised stamps, as well as locally available electronics and accessories. On the B2B end, they launched a special web based platform for pickup and delivery, with the possibility for sellers to track their operations end-to-end.

Jersey Post for the Fetch.je E-Commerce Platform
In the midst of COVID-19, Jersey Post developed Fetch.je, enabling islanders to order restaurant-quality food, essential and luxury products and much-needed services directly to their door. With a focus on supporting local businesses, Fetch.je provides an online e-commerce platform connecting local suppliers to local consumers during these unprecedented times.

MOOEVO for their Electric Cargo Transport System
Founded in 2019, MOOEVO have developed and patented a technology consisting of an electric platform (similar to a hoverboard) and a cargo system (e.g. carts and trolleys) for the transportation of goods. Capable of transporting loads of up to 200kg, MOOEVO has proved successful in recent trials with Correos, and has the potential to improve efficiency on daily postal rounds, and allow postmen to transport more volume and weight without injury.

Leopard Systems for their “Leopard Cube” Dimensional Cubing Solution
Leopard Cube is a cost-effective, legal-for-trade portable dimensional cubing solution that stops revenue leakage caused by non-conveyable, oversized, and under-declared freight. It’s both a cloud application and a measuring tape that, in effect, transforms a conventional mobile scanning device into a digital certified-for-trade freight cubing tool.

Prime Vision for their International Label Reader
Prime Vision’s International Label Reader (ILR) automates the processing of international packets and parcels, allowing the easy acquisition of all required customs data for postal items not pre-declared digitally. ILR can be used as a stand-alone facility or integrated with established packets and parcel sorters.
